Hi! I have never heard of Broderies being reproduced with paper Broderie labels. I get pristine tablecloths with their original lables all the time. I do not collect towels though.

It seems many people post-depression did not want to use their finest things. They would put them away "for special" and forget they were there. Sometimes the textiles were given as wedding or birthday gifts and were not the giftees taste.

I would treat them as a special find and treasure them!
